We’ll call this round three with the blog. Actually, I’d say it’s more like round 10, but three will do. There are a number of reasons I like to blog, and think it’s an important part of my ministry work.
First, it allows me to get thoughts out. A great friend once told me that once an idea is out of the “thought life”, it enters the real world and must be dealt with. This seems to me simultaneously comforting, therapeutic, and frightening. This is the same concept that Donald Miller, in his book A Million Miles in a Thousand Years, refers to as “inciting incident”. When something is spoken, or written, that is potentially life-altering, it cannot ever be fully unspoken or unwritten. It must become part of the speaker/writer’s world and reality. (more…)
