Ministry Site Design - How it Works

Step Zero: A chance to look before you leap.

This model may be a good fit for lots of situations, but before you jump in I want to make sure it's a good fit for you. The best way I've found to do that is to set up a free 10-15 minute Zoom meeting consultation. (Don't worry, a Zoom account is totally free!) I use Zoom because it allows me to share my screen with you and walk you through a site I've designed, and lets you check out the "back end" so you can see for yourself how easy it is to make updates to your finished site. Once you're ready for a test drive, simply click Schedule a Free Consultation.

Step One: Let's talk.

To create a custom site to meet your needs, the first step is building a relationship with you. That starts with a conversation. Since we're likely in different parts of the world, we'll use Zoom to make that conversation happen.

This 20-30 minute video call gives us the chance to get to know one another and we'll start the process of making your vision a reality.

Step Two: Guided Introspection.

Once we've had the chance to dream together, we'll set up a shared folder on Google Drive or Dropbox, whichever you prefer to use. There, you'll find a document that will guide you through creating content for each page of your site (the package includes up to four separate pages, plus a contact form). You'll be able to title your site sections and write the words you want to share. Any pictures, videos, sermons, or other media that you want to share with the world can simply be dropped into the folder, and I'll take it from there.

Step Three: A custom online home.

As part of the setup process, you'll create an account with Squarespace, and purchase your domain name and hosting plan. I'll guide you through selecting a template, and we'll completely customize the site to fit your needs and personality. Our goal is to create a space that uniquely represents you and your call.

Using the content you've provided in step two, I'll build out a complete, functional site that you can update, add to, remove from, or change in any way you need - without any need for coding knowledge or technical know-how.

Once you've submitted the content for your site, the creation process is typically completed within 1-2 weeks. I'll keep you in the loop all along the way.

Step Four: Giving you the keys.

Throughout the design process, you'll be able to see how the site looks and have input on the creation. When we're ready to launch, we get do do my favorite part - handing you control of your new home.

But you're not alone. Just like when we started the process, we'll wrap up with another Zoom call. Over the course of 30-45 minutes, I'll walk you through your entire site. You'll learn how to make updates, add your own content, and change anything you'd like to keep your story current.

And the best part is, we'll record the converation and I'll provide you a private download link so you can review any of the instruction at any time.
